Hallerbos forest in Winter - December
Hallerbos National Forest is a gem I think even during the winters. In Dutch, bos stands for trees. Hallerbos means Trees in a place called Halle, perhaps. It is known for the blue colored flowers that one can see in the Spring. In December, on a cold damp day, this national forest did not disappoint me. The scale of Rockies and Mighty 5 of Utah is not challenged but it is still a feast to my eyes to see nature like this. It is a large forest which has many parkings(only two were open during my visit) with many trails. The long trees with its leaves withered and ready to come back in 3 months, the ground is sprinkled densely with the fallen leaves, only to say they give chance to other new leaves to decorate the long trees, the forest was quite a sight. The about to be dead mushrooms in some places. Here are some pictures.
